About Us

Volcano Isle Tropicals began as a flower farm in 1987 at the base of Mauna Loa on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. We began by growing tropical flowers like Anthuriums, Ginger, Birds of Paradise and tropical foliages. In 1996 we started growing coffee trees, and quickly discovered that our location was an ideal spot for coffee! Now we have 1,500 coffee trees on approximately two acres!

At first we were getting our coffee roasted by a big roasting company. Then we decided to start roasting our own coffee to keep the quality we desired. Now we've expanded to roast the coffee of other local growers and sellers.

Our anthuriums are grown under shadecloth that filters out 70 percent of the sunlight to mimic their native habitat beneath the rainforest canopy. These hardy flowers can last up to a month after cutting and shipping.
